The training band is suitable for people interested in learning to play a brass instrument and players who have lapsed and wish to play with a band again. The training is given at all levels of ability and to players of all ages from 8 to 80 plus. There are some instruments available to borrow, so even if you don't have your own you won't miss out.
Free tuition is provided by experienced members of the band and, when considered proficient, players will be invited to play in the main band. The Durnovaria Silver Band has a busy schedule throughout the year providing entertainment at numerous public venues in and around Dorchester, including fetes, concerts and civic events.

Interested in joining us? Then come along to our weekly sessions held in the Fordington Methodist Church, Little Britain, Dorchester. The Training band sessions are held every Friday evening from 6.30 to 7.10 prior to the main band practice at 7.30 to 9.30.
